Water re-use technology was ranked 9 in the Opportunities for Business report of opportunities for UK business to value and protect nature's services.

The report states there is a business opportunity to develop and apply technology to increase the re-use of water and this would benefit rivers and wetlands.

Use of water re-use technology by businesses would save money and allow water self-sufficiency. This would also help reduce water scarcity, and reduce water extraction, pollution and energy use. A wide variety of technologies already exist and could be used by companies to help reduce their water use.
