Chaired by Professor Louise Heathwaite (Lancaster Environment Centre) this debate will bring together a range of experts to explore the opportunities and challenges associated with refining the ecosystem services concept i.e. the multiple benefits people obtain from ecosystems.

A timely topic given the imminent reporting on the first UK National Ecosystem Assessment.  A key feature of this interactive debate is encouraging better integration of the ecosystem services into policy and practice.  Short video clips from some of the panel members service to frame the discussions and are available to view online at:

This debate provides you with a great opportunity to engage with the issues surrounding this topic and network over cheese and wine with a select group of attendees from across public and private sector organisations.

Thursday 26th May 2011 – 4:30pm

Lancaster Environment Centre at Lancaster University

Further information and registration at: http://www.lec.lancs.ac.uk/n8environment

The debate is delivered by the N8 Research Partnership Water Theme in conjunction with the NERC-funded Catchment Change Network and the Centre for Sustainable Water Management within Lancaster University’s Environment Centre.
